Also keep an eye out on TV for the Long Hummer ad that Dave Taylor shot at this event... the part where Jake flexes and then laughs is a riot!
My good buddy Crispy and I travelled down to the event with Frank in his ex-military HMMWV, and Joe in his red slantback.
Me and Crispy perch up high to see the other trucks in line making their way to our location (Ron appears to be on the phone with his broker in the background... SELL SELL SELL!)
In this picture, you can see an active Cranberry bog in the background, and a "now defunct" bog in the foreground - obviously, those are the ones we were allowed to splash around in.
Crispy piloted the truck for much of the day

NEHOG Webmaster Dave Taylor plays on the roller coaster of sand
AM General's Doug Hamlin supervises the hill descents
Mark's truck spits out some sand as he volleys up the hill

More sand pit shots, with Crispy performing another recovery in the background
Playing in the mud
This H2 lost a bead after playing hard in the mud, so I broke out the Hi-Lift and the air tools to speed up the tire change...
Another lost bead, this time on an H1 - by this time, the Hi-Lift had been through the mud pit several times, and it was jammed up with mud; Doug Hamlin jacked while I pried the pins in and out of position to keep it moving, and Long Hummer offered up a loaner spare tire/wheel to get the truck on all fours again.
While we were wrestling with the Hi-lift, Mark got himself thoroughly stuck in the mud pit, but Steve Brajak was right on the scene to recover him. It was good to see everyone pushing their trucks to see what they could and couldn't do - these are the best times to get stuck, when you have lots of help around!
Dave Taylor was all over the event with video camera in hand
Carwash.
Jake tackles the toughest task of the day - first one through the mounds. Several people did this run and soon they ran another one next to it... but only one person is the first one through!
This is why they tell you not to feed the animals from your vehicle on safari...
Bob Upton recovers another vehicle from the mounds... the Eaton front locker on the dealership truck made quick work of several runs through the mounds - real nice option... if you are buying a new H1 get the lockers!
